Biography
Richard J. Camaione, Jr.
Rich's power plant experience began in the US Navy in 1977. After 8 years Rich left the Navy's submarine service to start work at an upstate New York utility as an Operations Training Specialist at a 600 MW coal fired power plant. Through 14 years of utility experience Rich has worked as an operations training specialist, electrical maintenance supervisor and a corporate trainer. His training focus has always been in the technical trades' areas with particular emphasis in fossil and hydro generation technologies. During the deregulation of the New York State utility generation assets in the mid 1990s, Rich worked with key utility personnel on critical generation divesture issues. Rich became the Technical Training Manager at an emerging generation based company in 1999. This energy provider had hydro, coal, oil, and natural gas technologies ranging from large central stations, simple and combined cycle gas turbines and independent hydroelectric facilities. During this tenure Rich used non traditional training methods to developed technical and operations progression training requirements and worked with company and union leadership to include these training requirements in their labor agreements.

With over 25 years of technical and management experience in the utility and generation environment, Rich founded PPEDS in May 2003 and his story continues to unfold as it should.
